National Band Competition 2009
Well i'm back in Kl now. Yea, and i wish i could turn back time, back to the 7th of August. Cuz i really don't feel like coming back to KL here and face the assignments again. wtf. T___T
And that's the first time ever i take train during night time with bed! This is how it looks like. simple yet comfortable. (yeah probably i was too tired for going up and down the whole day, pwtc then times square.)
Alright. Back to the main thing.
National Level Band Competition.
Forced myself to wake up early in the morning that day. As the place i stayed is quite far from the Pasir Gudang Stadium. The moment i reached, a lot of the teams from different states were there already. (well except for Perak and Selangor -.- I've been waiting there for quite long till they finally appear. ) Being there reminds me of the good old days when imma still in band. Aww...miss the old days so darn much. T.TThe bands started to warm up by the time they reach the stadium in the morning. By the way, this is St. Joseph Kuching High School. Dare not to get too close though. So i took this very random under a tree. lol. wtf.
By the way, i can see that color guards are slowly taking over the drum major's place. They are coming up very fast, seriously. And soon drum major will be abandoned. O__O Most of the school didn't really focus on their drum major's skill anymore though. Geez. And yeah, here is the representative for Perak state. The boys in red. Sam Tet Brass Band.
This is the MGSS school band, which is from Pahang. Their show was just so so this year, nothing much. And yes, you can see how small is the indoor stadium there. Looks exactly like Pahang's indoor stadium. Very alike. Except the floor. lol.
Well i guess i'll just upload some photos of the band here. too lazy to upload all of them and the line here is very bad now.
Oh well..Anyway, this is one of the band that i like though. But not really into it till i gone crazy for them. wtf. haha. Yea, this is St Joseph Kuching marching band, from Sarawak. They did put up an interesting show that day. Very special i can say, compared to other bands. What i meant was their way of performing. But surprisingly, they got the 7th placing. D:
And yes, here's the drum major for their band. The most outstanding drum major for the day because of his outfit wtf. haha. Too bad the drum major didn't perform instead he conducted his band. Well, this is how DCI looks like. Drum major will conduct the band instead of having a conductor cuz the drum major itself is already a conductor wtf. An outdoor conductor i should say.
It's really sad indeed to see drum major is slowly being replaced by the existance of the color guards. Soon you won't be seeing a person leading the band and throwing the mace at the front. And then you won't hear people cheer or boo the moment you manage to catch the mace or drop it accidentally. :( wtf. No more no more. Soon it'll be a history. :((This is St John institution's color guard. The first time i look at them, i was like, whoa they look so gayish! But then, hey, they got the best color guard award.
Alright. Here comes the champion. Sultanah Asma band from Kedah. They have been the champion for quite a few years already as i heard. To be frank, i see nothing special from them this year. They are good still, but not as good as the previous years. Like this band though.
Aye, and here it is. The last team to perform on that day.
STBB from Ipoh, Perak.
I am from Ipoh. Therefore, i'm supporting Perak weh. wtf. lol.The supporters of stbb roared and cheered by the time they marched out. And, well, there were this bunch of malay guys laugh and jeered at the drum major. Saying that he's fat and ain't smart enough. I ain't stupid and i can hear that clearly as they were so loud. Oh whatever, i don't care for the dm though. wtf.
Surprisingly, the boys did put up a great show that day. Now i get what they mean when they told me about their performance during Perak state band competition. Frankly speaking, STBB improved a lot. Yes, as in really a lot. They got a lot of award that day. Love their Azizah by the way. Congrats to STBB. =) But not the dm. wtf.Managed to capture a photo of the peeps from sjs kuching in a near distance during the break. wahahaha. A__A wtf.
